Exploring Geochemical Signatures of Ancient Settlements: A Case Study of an Ancient Tell in Israel

Using Tel Burna as a case study, the thesis combined pXRF and pOSL to identify destruction horizons, carbonate floors, degraded mudbrick and selective erosion, including where stratigraphy was not macroscopically visible.

Sedimentary Dynamics and Site Formation Processes in an Urban Interface: A Geoarchaeological Study of the Philistine Gate, Tel Ashdod

The thesis examines a sedimentary profile below the Philistine Gate at Tel Ashdod. Using pXRF, pOSL and micromorphology, it distinguishes natural sediments, occupation deposits and post-depositional changes and considers how the water regime influenced site formation.
