Principle
We design the applications as small, focused research tools. They automate routine work while keeping analytical decisions visible, editable and traceable. The aim is one workflow usable in the field, during analysis and while preparing a paper.
In preparation
A shared Human Earth Lab visual system, consistent controls and a common project logic across applications.
A workspace for profile photography, stratigraphy, Munsell/WRB description and geochemical data. Automatic XRF input checks, depth profiles, PCA, categories, boxplots, statistics and direct linking between a PCA point and its position in the profile.
Compare multiple profiles by depth, horizons and geochemical change, with joint PCA and publication-ready figures.
Thin-section annotation, measurements, pedofeatures and structures with automated figure plates and description tables.
Field description of horizons, Munsell colour, structure and texture with editable WRB diagnostic suggestions.
Design pXRF, micromorphology, OSL/pOSL and other sampling according to the profile, research question and layer type.
Consistent research figures and tables: SVG, TIFF, PDF, captions and a reproducible Methods record.
Early versions will be released progressively. Feedback from real field and laboratory workflows is part of the development process.
